Establishing reference photograph of a place: Desolate rainy cliffside outside a weathered stone lighthouse at gray dawn. A cave entrance in a black basalt cliff, its mouth half-sealed by fresh fallen rubble, dust still settling. Muddy churned ground strewn with debris, a rusted iron harpoon with a serpent-carved handle lying broken in the mud. Torrential cold rain, drifting sea mist, slate gray, muddy brown and dull iron palette. Wide low angle, side-on, painterly realism, flat cold light, wet textures, shallow depth of field, 35mm film grain, dark fairytale mood, no people.
